He knew the backroads of America like the back of his hand, and impressively visited all 50 states with his wife, Mary, during their retirement. He was happiest surrounded by friends, all of whom he treated as family, kicking back with a cold beer, or “orange”, as he would call them. He had a great sense of humor and an incredible zest for life. Art was beloved by all, and known for his gentle spirit, infectious laugh, and gift of storytelling. He was also a cherished friend and companion to Shirley Valentine of Tiffin, Ohio. One of Art’s biggest joys in life were his granddaughters, Emily Floyd Mack (Patrick), Erica Floyd (Jacob Schnur), and Elinor Floyd, of San Francisco, California. Art Floyd was the beloved father of two sons, Gary (Heidi Knodle) Floyd of San Francisco, California, and Greg (Suzanne) Floyd of Columbus, Ohio.
